Bv 238 War Thunder Navigation menu VideoWar Thunder -- BV 238 - Premium Plane Review
Due to being an aircraft of this size, it is no surprise that the BV is a very sluggish plane when it comes to making changes in flight.
Typical characteristics of this aircraft are slow acceleration, poor climb rate, low top speed, pitiful turn rate and an agonizingly slow roll rate, the BV is a handful and will not out-perform any aircraft it will face in-game.
If necessary, combat flaps can significantly decrease the turn time, however, manoeuvres like this should be limited as it can expose the bomber to enemy fighters looking for an advantage.
While at altitude, to get away from inbound fighters, it may be tempting to dive down to a lower altitude, however, this may be counterproductive as it will put the fragile bomber at a much lower altitude and in range of many more enemy fighters.
For this aircraft, altitude is king and the best place from which it can bomb. When being attacked, ensure the gunners have a clear shot at the incoming enemy fighter and if necessary, switch to gunner-view and staff the turrets yourself.
Even if the BV ends up going down, make sure the enemy fighter goes with you. The only notably good flight characteristic of the BV is the low stall speed of the flying boat, which allows it to glide long distances at low speeds and makes it incredibly easy to land this massive aircraft in the water.
Though the BV almost entirely lacks armour, it is a highly survivable plane. Massive areas of empty space within the fuselage as well as the iconic six engines of this behemoth cause the bomber to be an incredibly tough target to take down.
With smart use of Manual Engine Controls to disable engines and manipulate radiators, a BV pilot can nurse even a critically damaged bomber several kilometres home safely.
Due to the plane's role as a flying boat, the belly of the bomber is unusually durable, and can easily survive landings on land-based runways in spite of the BV 's lack of a wheeled landing gear.
The wings of this massive aircraft are the weak points, if a cannon bearing aircraft manages to cause one of the wings to snap, there is nothing stopping the BV from crashing to the earth.
In terms of crew members, the BV houses an impressive ten crew members, with two crew members in the flight deck and five more each manning various gunner positions around the aircraft, and three more miscellaneous crew.
So ended the story of the largest aircraft of the Axis powers in the Second World War, and the heaviest aircraft of its time But today the BV receives a new lease of life — in the War Thunder game universe!
Download Wallpaper x x x We're pleased to present the first and only completed version of this child of Blohm und Voss, the BV V1.
We have recreated it in the game just as it would have been, had it ever been deployed, i. The aircraft's crew was planned at people, most of which were gunners.
The seaplane is equipped with four turrets carrying quadruple MG It was intended that the aircraft would be capable of carrying a massive bomb load.
Ive flown the bv a few times with some squad mates. By it self its fairly protected and decent. But more then one in a formation and its gg.
If i remeber right last time i flew it in rb it takes half the bombs it carries to destory a base. What me and my squad did was split up drop half our bombs at the bases then form up and drop the rest at the airfield.
It worked quite well most of the time. There is the weak point directly below the bv but besides that the guns have good coverage.
Would highly recommend. Lohengrin View Profile View Posts. Best premium, and great for custom battles. I once got 2 bases, 2 kills, landed in a river, survieved 1 extra spitfire, critted another, and burned to death.
Best match ever. Install Steam. Store Page. War Thunder Store Page. Global Achievements. Bag full of shit View Profile View Posts.
My german air tree is very empty without any tier 3 aircraft yet. I'm wondering if the BV GE is a good option to grind out the entire tier 3 and print money while doing it.
My second option is the German P GE. Attacks from directly ahead and from the side also work well as long as you are below them to avoid the 20mm turret.
Like with most large aircraft, crippling their wings or tail will curse them to a slow death by control loss. You can also set the wings on fire to do all this and cause asymmetrical thrust problems.
AI turrets kill it even with fast boom zoom but if you aim at wings [from above] its weak spot, you will not kill it but vb will loose control and crash after few mins, do not even try to tail it..
Well, I'm officially there after a few more fights against this thing. Its not impossible to approach and kill, but you need to be fast The only way I have found to stop that before you effectively lose is to:.
Come at them as fast as you can for a full Alpha strike of Rockets while angling toward wing roots. Crash your now flaming bullet ridden plane into its wing root, turns out its Achilles heel is a MPH P slamming into it head on while blaring the Star Spangle Banner song optional.
We need new maps and objectives to accommodate all these bombers in their current form. Or nerf both their spawn alt and DM for all the scumbag AF killing bombers.
I can't help but feel like we are alpha testers or something. What the hell is this crap? Please stop it! Only tangled with one so far, I was in a P38, emptied all my ammo into it, watched the sides and wing light up with the strikes, only got hits, not crit's and the plane wondered off as if it hadn't even noticed me, while I had to go land and re arm, of course their was not airfield left to land on and not enough time left to land before the counter ran out anyway.
Tangled with a few of these in arcade. Kingcobra brought it down pretty easily - I just held the trigger down for a bit rather than trying to snipe.
Its funny to see people crying over this. Thing is, Since you have no bomber cockpits, and you can use mouse aim to manually aim gunners, simmers in fighters are easily shot down.
